Global dimming continues

Global dimming is the gradual reduction in the amount of light reaching the Earth's surface observed over time. Pollution is the cause: an increase in the number of polluting particles (smoke, dust, toxic substances, etc.) released into the atmosphere by human activities. Globally, the amount of light reaching the earth decreased by 4% between 1960 and 1990. The effects of global dimming are very serious: the emergence of a cooling effect on the Earth, which can partially mask the greenhouse effect and global warming.

Unfortunately, the main cause of this phenomenon is pollution due to conflicts around the world, which probably "downgrades" pollution from human activities in large cities. The area of Iraq is one of the main factors responsible for the Global Darkness through deliberate pollution by burning millions of barrels of oil. Terrorist groups are now resorting to a new kind of warfare, namely intentional/deliberate pollution by burning large quantities of tyres and hydrocarbons in order to poison the breathing air.

Dislocation of armed forces (combat equipment, troops) releases tons of dust and carbon dioxide into the atmosphere.

The consequences/effects of this phenomenon are diverse and serious:

  1. Sunlight reaching the Earth's surface decreases in percentage;
  2. The water cycle in nature is strongly affected by the gradual decrease of the evaporation rate;
  3. Measuring the advantage of solar energy.
