Food waste

In the European Union, one of the biggest problems is food - people buy too much food in the supermarket, more than they need. Once they end up in landfill sites they are an environmental disaster, giving local authorities a headache as they have to keep finding ways to dispose of the rubbish. But the real problem is for the planet, as rotting food produces large amounts of methane, a global warming gas 23 times more potent than carbon dioxide.

The solution to this problem would be the awareness of the population, of each individual on the effects of the generation of this (food) waste, correlated with the understanding of the need for a thoughtful and real consumption so that we do not generate waste of food bought and not consumed.
